Please note, as with all sorts, the student should say the word aloud as they write or sort the word. If they put the word in the wrong column, do not correct at that time. When the student is done, he/she should say the entire column aloud. At that time, they may notice that they made an incorrect choice. They may move it at that time. If the student doesn't notice the word that is incorrectly labeled, you may ask the student to explain why they choose to put the word in that category.
