I have just a few notes to share before tracking out. I hope everyone enjoys an adventurous and restful winter break.
Educational suggestions during track out:
- READ, READ, READ!!!! Please encourage your child to read daily. Perhaps you can form a family or neighborhood book club, sharing reading time and talking about an engaging book. Check out ideas in the Otter Parent tab of this website.
- Study multiplication facts 4 - 5 times weekly. Most of the kiddos have finished the first half- it gets harder from here on out. When we return we will pick up with 9s and 3s. See the link on this website for the list of order and check out Otter games link for fun activity.
-Have your child practice cursive. There are lots of great apps for cursive. Ask your child to help write the grocery list, or write a letter to grandma. It may help for you to write a few simple lines and your child can copy them. Use paper, white boards, sand, paint, wiki sticks- what ever motivates your child.
Other news:
I sent home a class list in Monday's folder. We will have a small card exchange and snack on 2/14. Your child may write Valentines cards to help celebrate. Please include a card for each student.
Save the date cards went home on Friday for the Cultures of Kindness night. This will be while we are tracked out. The date is Feb. 9th from 5-8. Check in with the school website for more information.
