I just have a few things to pass on to you. The children are finally getting back into the swing of things and are finishing their third quarter of third grade. They are on their way to becoming 4th graders soon!
Sometimes, spring incites changes in us. As a class, I think the students are ready for a change in a behavior plan. We are working with points for "ready to learn" behavior. The kids came up with an exciting list of rewards. We are testing the plan out next week. I will let you know when we are ready to launch the system.
Please remember we have our field trip next Tuesday. Please pack a disposable lunch for your child. We will be outside much of the day, so plan your child's outfit and outer wear for the weather.
We have our third quarter CASE tests coming up. Please check below for the dates. Also, EOG dates have been set. Please check below for dates.
Here are a few messages that I have been asked to pass on to you
1. My name is Vanessa Romano, and I work at the NC Museum of Art. I wanted to let you know that the Museum is having a “Stargazing in the Museum Park” night for all-ages hosted with Morehead Planetarium and Raleigh Astronomy Club on March 27th! We think this is something your students and their families would be interested in; it should be a great night for stars and snacks! There will be telescopes placed around the park to gaze at the stars and planets, sips and snacks are offered with the purchase of tickets ($5 for members, $8 for non-members).
2. Sample the Rainbow:
We will be holding our annual Sample the Rainbow event for all of the Oak Grove students on Thursday, March 26th (for Tracks 2, 3 & 4) and Tuesday, March 31st (for Track 1). This event provides a chance for Oak Grove students to sample various fruits and vegetables during their lunch hour. Whole Foods has generously donated all the produce, but we are in need of parent volunteers to help cut the produce, prepare the sample cups, and serve the students. This is such a fun event as the kids are always excited to bite into the rainbow! If you are able to volunteer for this event please click on the sign-up below, Thank you for your help!
