We continue to grow and work hard here in third grade. The kids have been working
diligently at writing responses to reading. In math the students are enjoying
learning about fractions. We have a field trip coming up which they are looking forward to.
I have a few items to note for you.
EOGs- The dates for EOGs are June 17th and 18th. Please mark your calendars.
If you would like to practice with your child, there are lots of wonderful workbooks that you can find on line or at the teacher store in Cary, Stones. There are also released EOG sample tests. These can be found at the following:

Kid Biz-
Thank you for helping your child with this program at home. Kid Biz is an excellent tool for your child to practice reading comprehension skills. All of our students have shown growth with this and continue to be excited when they see their own growth. We have weekly rewards for students in our classroom and all are working towards a Pizza party for meeting their own weekly goals. The students get points for meeting activity goals. Many of our students have been daily top scorers in the
school. Hats off to several of our classmates. They had the top weekly scores of the
entire school. Ryan O, Ginger P., Luc B., and Peyton L. have each been the weekly top scorer for one of the last 4 weeks. Hurray for them and all of their hard work. I remind the kids that this is great exercise for their brains. They must practice reading, referring to text, and problem solving
frequently to get really good at it.
Multiplication and Division: It looks like we are back on track with this. Thank you for continuing to
have your child work on this as often as possible. Frequency of practice and repetition is key for Even if you download an app and have your child play a quick game on the way to school or out to dinner
would be very beneficial. You can also have a family game night and have kids against parents- they love to beat us adults!
Pencils: Yikes! With all of this hard work, the kids are running out of pencils. We have about 2.5 pencils left per child. We could really use some more class pencils. We promise to put them to good use.
