It was great meeting most of you during the Parent Night Event. Its amazing that we are on the countdown to trackout and the first quarter will soon be coming to an end! The kids continue to amaze me daily. They are such a hardworking bunch and so sweet too!
I have just a few notes to share:
Look for Scholastic book orders to come home this week. This is a great opportuntiy to order books for trackout. This first order is also when we earn the most points per orders. That means we can use points to add to our class bookshelf. I also use books for rewards instead of prize boxes. Your orders will be helping out our class!
Homework: This week your child will bring home a multiplication game instead of a sprial review. Please try to play it several times throughout the week. I suggest you get a folder and keep it in there. I occasionally send home games for homework and they are a great resource to keep and come back to.
Most of the kids did a great job on their ReadWorks assignments. I send home a "Missing Homework" note if I did not get your child's math or online homework, so please look for that in the Monday folder.
Also, in Monday folders, I have included a Parent Letter that summarizes our math goals for this unit, explains the strategies taught, and has video links and parent questions. The video links are also on this website- go to more.../homework helpers tab and click on the "math helpers" link.
Agendas: I have asked the kids to put their library day on their agendas. The children go to the library before schools on rotating days. Hopefully marking the day on the agenda will help them manage their book returns.
