The end is near!!!! The kiddos are working really hard to get ready for the EOGs, finishing up writing pieces, practicing test taking skills, putting finishing touches on projects... it magically all comes together on June 30th.
We have lots of activities lined up for the end of the year. Next week will be the final push for EOG prep. On Thursday we are going to do an all-day math Escape Room event. Our kiddos/secret spies will be asked to join a very important mission. We will use all of our math skills, working in teams to help find Mr. Rockefeller's stolen fortune. This promises to be a fun way to engage all of those math skills we have learned this year.
On the evening of June 23rd 3rd grade/track 3 is hosting a Poetry Cafe. The students will read a poem they have written. We will also have an open mic time and look forward to family members or siblings sharing a poem. Family and grandparents are welcome. We will also bring refreshments to share.
Also, track 3/3rd grade hosts a family bowling night to celebrate our year. More to come with dates and details regarding this.
Check out the calendar below for special events that the kiddos will have on the last week of school.
Testing days:
- Help your child off to a great start by have a calm and positive morning before the test. Lay clothes out the night before, have lunches and book bags packed before bed.
- Please have your child to school on time. We start at 9:20 promptly. Late arrivals will not be admitted to the testing room.
- Breakfast is offered FREE to all students testing. We will be testing on Monday and Tuesday. Your child may get breakfast upon arrival. If your child is eating at home, avoid sugary foods. High protein foods are great for testing days. Also- if you plan to have your child eat at school that day- please have them here in plenty of time to eat.
- Your child will be offered a snack during a testing break. Thank you to all the parents that are donating snacks for us!
- Talk to your child about your positive expectations for them. I tell the kids that the test is just like what we have been learning and working on all year. This is their chance to shine and celebrate all that they have learned and accomplished.
Other News:
The school has testing all week. Teachers may have lunch in the cafeteria or the classroom. This is probably not a good week to come in to eat with your child. Regular lunches will resume during the last week of school.
