You will notice that your child is bringing home a game for math homework this week. These games are great review practice for EOGs. They are easy and fun to play. The children will bring home a different game each night. Also, encourage your child to play the online math games that were sent home 3 weeks ago.
The kids are so excited about our upcoming Poetry cafe on the evening of Friday, June 19th. We are publishing poems and working on fluency. We are setting up a 60's style beatnik coffeehouse. The children can wear black shirts and jeans and are welcome to wear groovy sunglasses too! Plan on bringing a finger-snack goody to share. We are making this a track 3, 3rd grade event so Mrs. Stephens' kiddos will join us for the fun as well.
As the year is winding down, so too are our lunch clubs. Thank you to Mrs. Nealis for leading our Writing Club and inspiring lots of fun and funny young authors. Thank you to Mrs. Chen for leading our Math Club. She inspired greatness in mathematical thinking and problem solving. Thank you as well to Mrs. Gay in leading the Girls' lunch book club. She organized the book choices, managed getting and returning the books from the library, and read the books along with the girls. They really enjoyed the fun of shared reading experiences.
